Comodo CA has rebranded: it is now ‘Sectigo’
Comodo CA, a popular certification authority and a major supplier of solutions in the field of online security, has announced its rebranding. The company has changed its name to Sectigo after being bought by Francisco Partners about a year ago.
The main goal of the rebranding, according to Sectigo CEO Bill Holtz, was to eliminate existing market confusion and enter a broader market for online security solutions. The confusion arose due to the separation of the Comodo CA from the Comodo Group – both companies operate in the same markets but, in legal terms, they are different organisations.
What has changed due to rebranding?
New logos and new colours; trust seal is now called Sectigo; and the names of some products have changed (well-known names, such as PositiveSSL and InstantSSL, are now signed as "powered by Sectigo".)
End users won’t have to worry about a thing as all Comodo CA roots will remain the same. If you have previously used the Comodo trust seal, you can now change it to the Sectigo trust seal.
You can always purchase Sectigo SSL/TLS certificates (formerly Comodo) from the LeaderSSL store at the best prices.
